I finally decided to gather all my dracling sketches and put them together in sketchbook format. It's still in early stages but I am excited how it is turning out so far. Above is a sketch study on a 6" x 8" on a 140 gsm watercolor board. More Dracs coming soon!

As defined in Wikipedia, A hierarchy is an arrangement of items (objects, names, values, categories, etc.), in which the items are represented as being "above," "below," or "at the same level as" one another. The word derives from the Greek
ἱεραρχία (hierarchia), from ἱεράρχης (hierarches), "president of sacred rites, high-priest" and that from ἱερός (hieros), "sacred" + ἄρχω (arkho), "to lead, to rule".

In the world of Faeries, there are order and "hierarchy." Once you choose to enter it, be careful not to disturb the order of the enchanted realm or you may never find your way back.

IF: Impossibility
From a series of sketches on my sketchbook.
The "impossibility" of winged creatures like the one above is one of the main themes and inspirations I drew upon in creating the book "Faerywinkle". These mythical creatures were enough to fuel my desire to create and bring them to life - not just as fierce and frightful creatures but intelligent and whimsical beings as well. Designing them is a great challenge for me which includes making them believable and bringing their environment to life. Once done, I can release them from their enchanted realms and breathe life to their newfound kingdom!
